We are proud to announce that Dr Eleanor Robertson gave birth to a healthy baby boy on the 26th August, weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces – Angus James Robertson. Both are doing very well.

We’re proud to announce that Alstonville Dental has successfully completed Cynergex training in Management of Medical Emergencies.

The course covers the following areas:

  1. Identify the most common medical emergencies affecting patients, using a risk management approach;
  2. Manage the immediate care of medical emergencies utilizing a practice management system;
  3. Apply techniques and protocols consistent with current emergency medical guidelines for pre-hospital care;
  4. Refer the patient to further appropriate care.


It’s Your Choice

These days most people can choose which dentists will provide their dental care.

However, some health funds are attempting to force their members to see the health funds’ dentist of choice. Some funds call these dentists preferred providers or participating providers. They are contractually bound to that health fund.

The Australian Dental Association (ADA) believes that maintaining patient choice is a crucial element to providing high standards of dental care.

A new Government Children’s Dental Benefits Schedule has commenced: all children aged from 2-17 years are eligible for $1000 in Dental services. This Scheme replaced the Medicare Teen Dental Plan from the 1st of January 2014. Find out more…

Welcome Natalie Stokes

We welcome another Dr Natalie who will be commencing work part-time. An Honours Graduate, she has over 10 years experience in General Dental Practice in Taree, Ballina and Mullumbimby. Natalie lived initially in rural Victoria before studying in Melbourne and finding her way to our area. She has a two year old son and enjoys the challenges of complex dental cases as well as routine work.
